Yesterday I said bye to Kathy and Steve and flew on my ($53!!!) Southwest Airlines flight to Fort Lauderdale, where grandma Schneider picked me up from the airport. We have been eating, lounging, eating, and enjoying the mid 70s weather for the past 26 hours.
Now I am preparing to embark on a 29+ hour travel journey to eventually end up in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina. Here is how things are supposed to go:
- 4pm Train from Delray Beach to Miami international airport
- Bus from train station to the International Terminal (terminal f)
- Check in and confirm that the airline I am traveling on (Boliviana de Aviacion) is in fact a real thing.
- Take off from MIA at 10pm local time. Eat/Sleep on plane.
- Arrive in La Paz, Bolivia (Viru Viru International Airport) at 5:30am local time.
- Cope with not having cell phone access and vigorously search for Wifi during my 5.5 hour layover.
- Depart from La Paz at 11am local time. Soak in my first bout with (most likely) 100% spanish emersion.
- Arrive in Buenos Aires, Argentina (Ministro Pistarini, EZE Airport) at 14:50 local time.
- Probably run into someone (most likely Jewish) that I know.
- FBGM = Find Baggage and Get (local) Money. Oh and customs.
- Find Manuel Tienda Leon (bussing service) to take me the 4 hours north to Rosario Argentina. I'm praying that this is real too, but I mean at this point if I am still in one piece, I'll be happy.
- Look at the Southern Hemisphere out the window for the first time.
- Arrive in Rosario and try not to wake people up because it'll most likely be after 22:00 local time.
Will any of those things happen????
Hopefully my next blog will not be delayed so that we can all find out!
